In January of 1975, "Funky President" peaked at #4 on the R and B charts. The song was often sampled in hip hop recordings including the classics "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy, "Fuck Tha Police" by N.W.A. and "Eric B is President" by Eric B and Rakim.
