On May 4, 1979 Elvis Costello and the Attractions released "Accidents Will Happen" b/w "Talking in the Dark" and "Wednesday Week".  After the infamous Holiday Inn incident, Costello couldn't buy a hit in the United States, but in the U.K. the catchy song, which Costello says is "about a straying lover struggling to tell the truth and face the consequences", reached #28.  

The music video, by Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton, was one of the 35 videos selected for the Museum of Modern Art's "Golden Oldies of Music Video" exhibition in 2003.
