40 Year Itch : Ass Shaking Loot

When Family broke up after the disappointing sales of It's Only a Movie, the band's bleating lead singer Roger Chapman and guitarist Charlie Whitney, both Family's main songwriters, recorded Streetwalkers. Released in April of 1974, it's full of boozy, good time rock'n' roll that after a dozen listens has become one of my favorites of the year. In 2010, Chappo and others remastered the songs, releasing them in a different track order as "First Cut".

I've recently become obsessed with the beautiful deep cut "Call Ya" but the whole album deserves to be heard today . Below is a 1975 performance of "Tokyo Rose". Digging the rugby shirt and slacks look!
