This week in 1977, The Water Pistols's "Gimme That Punk Junk", a parody of The Sex Pistols and the punk scene, was selected as NME's "Single of the Week". It features the lyrics:" I am a rebel and Simon's my name/ Mum think I'm crazy I drive her insane/ I've learned two chords, I sing out of tune/ If pun rock lasts I'll make a fortune."
