On July 4, 1978 Bootsy's Rubber Band entered the U.K. charts at #43 with "Bootzilla", a former #1 R and B hit in the United States. Bootzilla is a new character for P-Funk bassist Bootsy Collins, "the world's only rhinestone rock-star doll". "Bootzilla" spent three weeks on the U.K.charts, which is three weeks longer than the sing;e ever spent on the Billboard Hot 100.

In August of 1976, Bootsy Collins finally got his chance to show his stuff outside the Parliament/ Funkadelic collective and the Rubber Band album Stretchin' Out is the result. We've already highlighted "I'd Rather Be With You" this year, so let's dip a bit deeper for "Physical Love", which may or may not feature an uncredited Eddie Hazel guitar solo.
