Sid Vicious : My Way

On July 2, 1978 Sid Vicious's piss take cover of "My Way" entered the UK charts at #18. Vicious changed some of the lyrics that made Frank Sinatra famous. For instance, instead of "My friend, I'll say it clear", he sings "You cunt, I'm not a queer". The song was recorded for The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle, a mockumentary directed by Julian Temple, and ends with Vicious shooting the audience.

In three and a half months, Vicious would be arrested by New York City police, charged with the murder of Nancy Spungen. Four months after that, he would die, overdosing on heroin.

Major Harris : Love Won't Let Me Wait

   Soul doesn't get any smoother or more sensual than this Major Harris single which, after topping the R and B charts,  peaked in the pop charts at #5 in June of 1975, thanks in no small part to the unrestrained moaning of the highly reputed back up singer Barbara Ingram. Former Delfonic Harris dimmed the lights down low in the Philadelphia International studio while MFSB and the backing vocalists found the mood. Luther Vandross and Seal also recorded the song.
