In 1977, Johnny "Guitar" Watson followed up his landmark funk album Ain't Love a Bitch with another classic, A Real Mother For Ya. The title track, a Top 5 hit, was his biggest R and B chart ever, and just missed the US Top 40 by one notch. He played everything on this gold record except the horns and drums.
