While Telly Savalas enjoyed a second week atop the UK charts, Johnny Wakelin's "Black Superman ( Muhammed Ali) was quickly dropping off the charts. But by September it would spend six month on the US charts, peaking at #21. Despite the many quotations from the champ ( "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee"), Ali didn't get a songwriting credit for the single . Waklelin was smart enough to give Ali a mounted copy of the single in 1974, a gift that so pleased the champ that Ali promised to promote the single in the US.
