40 year Itch : Barb Does Bowie

In October of 1974, Barbra Streisand released her first album in three years, ButterFly. Produced by Barb beau Jon Peters, the album features covers of Bob Marley's "Guava Jelly" and David Bowie's "Life On Mars". Of Barbra's version, Bowie told Playboy Magazine “Bloody awful. Sorry, Barb, but it was atrocious.” Barb apparently agreed. In 1992 she told Larry King ButterFly was her least favorite album.

  1. Atrocious indeed. Sounds like it is being performed by a music teacher in a school in the mid 1970s.
