The Clash return to the charts with "Bankrobber"

The Clash: Bankrobber

On August 3, 1980, "Bankrobber", a new single from The Clash, debuted on the UK Charts at #60. Produced by reggae great Mikey Dread, who mixed Paul Simonon's bass up high in the mix, the non-album single would peak at UK#12.

To promote the album, The Clash made the low budget video below. Roadies Baker and Johnny Green are wearing masks in the open and 40 years before a worldwide pandemic what could be more suspicious? Police questioned the pair who thought they might actually be the real thing.
